Our journey began with a daughter's smile
Big Time Event Design truly started with my daughter. I wanted her birthday celebrations to feel special, so I began creating things myself. What started as a dad trying to make memorable moments for his daughter quickly uncovered a creative gift I didn't know I had. From those first celebrations, the work grew—birthdays turned into school events, corporate experiences, community celebrations, large-scale installations, and eventually opportunities to travel and design for clients outside of Cincinnati. We're proud to be a Cincinnati, Ohio-based event design and experiential décor studio, bringing big ideas to life wherever they're needed.
Designing experiences, not just decor
What makes our approach unique is that we don't start with a product—we start with an idea. We're not trying to figure out where to put balloons in a room. We're thinking about how the space should feel, what guests should experience when they walk in, and what will make the event memorable. Color, shape, composition, structure, and most importantly, the client's vision all matter. Sometimes the answer is balloons. Sometimes it's fabric, custom-built pieces, lighting, dimensional elements, or a combination of unexpected visual moments. We specialize in transforming ordinary spaces into memorable experiences through custom installations, dimensional décor, creative fabrication, balloons, draping, and branded activations.
Passionate about creative collaboration
We're most passionate about working with clients who are excited to create something different. That can be a corporation looking to turn its brand into an immersive experience, a school wanting students to walk into a completely transformed space, an organization celebrating an important milestone, or a family trusting us with one of life's biggest moments. The type of event matters less to us than the opportunity to be creative and intentional. We especially love projects where we're given a vision, a goal, or even just a feeling and trusted to interpret it through design. Those are the projects that push us creatively and allow us to create something that feels specific to that client rather than something we've done a dozen times before. There's also something incredibly rewarding about transformation. We love walking into an ordinary ballroom, cafeteria, tent, gym, or empty venue and leaving behind a space that feels almost unrecognizable.
Intentionality and creative courage guide every design.
We believe every design decision should have a reason. Color, shape, scale, composition, and materials aren't just chosen because they look good—they should work together to support the client's vision and create a specific feeling or experience. We also believe great design requires the courage to try something different. We're constantly challenging ourselves to move beyond what's expected, experiment with new materials and techniques, and resist simply recreating what's already been done. At the same time, creativity should never overshadow the client. Our job is to bring our creative voice to their vision—not replace it with our own.
